The Homestead

The Homestead Jonrud is a cottage farm idyllically located by beautiful Follsjø. The site was renovated in 2023 and is now a perfect place to gather with family or friends. Follsjø is a popular swimming and fishing lake. There are sheep grazing in the summer and a beautiful flower meadow surrounds the site.

The Homestead consists of a yard with the cabins The Cottage and The Stable , as well as a barn, a storehouse and a sauna in the old pigsty. It is a minute's walk down to Follsjø and the popular public beach is also within walking distance.

The Cottage is the main cottage on the site, it was renovated in 2023. The cottage consists of a living room with an open living room and kitchen, sofa, dining table and wood stove. The kitchen has a stove and fridge with freezer. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two family bunks. Total accommodation for 8 people, maximum recommended for 6 adults. The Stable is a small and simple cabin, we call it the micro cabin. Here there is a living room with kitchen, sofa and dining table. In the kitchen there is a dormitory stove with hotplates and refrigerator. Sleeping space on the loft, with 2 x 120 cm mattresses of good quality. Here it is possible for up to 4 people to sleep if you are good friends, the sofa can be converted into sleeping accommodation for two people. You can read more about The Stable here .

A new bathroom with shower and toilet is in the barn, as well as a kitchenette for washing up. There is no running water in the other cabins, but they are equipped with a sink. The barn was renovated in 2022. You can read more about the sauna here .

There is a patio with a dining area and a gas grill. Follsjø bathing beach is a short walk from the cabin, and it is well-equipped for small children. There is also a separate bathing area right down to the water. Here is a simple boat that can be used by arrangement. The site is easily accessible along the FV602 and it is a short drive to Blefjell.

Stabburet used as an annex, here there is a good double bed and sofa bed that can be used in the summer months.
