Årestua , Norway's oldest home ?

Årestua , one of Norway's oldest home in wood from the 13th century, offers a very special atmosphere. Here you can dream yourself back to the Middle Ages and Viking times, with panoramic views of the Telemark mountains and top modern comfort. Suitable for couples, families and groups of friends.

Årestua connects what once was with the time we live in. Here you are in the middle of a historical cultural landscape and can look out over the seven blues and Gaustatoppen. The decor is inspired by the way the old rowing houses were, with the fireplace in the middle and a long table with log chairs. The flame from the fireplace is visible throughout the room and creates its own light on dark evenings. There is a four-poster bed that is both beautiful to look at and a comfortable sleeping place for two. There is a new kitchen with all amenities, this is designed to take as little attention as possible. There is a modern extension in Scandinavian design with a beautiful bedroom, bathroom and loft with extra sleeping places.
