Follsjø bathing beach
Follsjø has always been a popular bathing lake for people from near and far. Now it is also equipped with a beautiful beach, parking and toilets. Are you worried that the water is cold? In fact, there are often around 20 guards in the summer!
Follsjø Beach with a view of Blefjell
The beach at Jonrud on Follsjø has become a great recreational area for residents of Notodden and visitors. There is a large lawn and a lovely sandy beach, even a small section for the smallest children. A bridge has also been built over Jonrudåa, so it is possible to explore the area at Jonrudodden.
Grilling
Permanent grills have been set up for visitors to use. They are encouraged to avoid disposable grills for environmental reasons.
Sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities contain a toilet/HC toilet and are cleaned regularly. When using the sanitary facilities, a bank card is used. Trash cans are available, as well as a container in the parking lot.
Accessibility/handicap
There is a HC ramp for wheelchair users and others who have difficulty getting into the water. The area is also flat and easily accessible.
Boat launch
It is still possible to launch a boat in the area. Please note that the boat must then be launched and the car must then be parked in the parking lot on the opposite side of the road.
Parking
The beach has a large parking lot with about 60 spaces, on the opposite side of the road. There is handicapped parking right next to the sanitary facilities, on the same side of the road as the beach. Camping and other overnight stays on the beach are not permitted.
Directions
The beach is located along Follsjøvegen FV602, between Notodden and Bolkesjø, about halfway along the water. The beach is clearly visible from the road. It is about a 15-minute drive from Notodden.
